The Wright-Poling Pickaway County Dog Shelter & Adoption Center is committed to protecting the dogs of Pickaway County through professional animal control services, responsible pet ownership education, reunification of lost pets, and successful adoptions.

About Us

The shelter serves as Pickaway County's official dog shelter facility. Our mission is to provide safe shelter, compassionate care, and responsible placement for dogs while protecting the public and promoting responsible pet ownership throughout the county. The shelter operates under Ohio law and manages stray dogs, licensing compliance, dangerous dog investigations, and adoption services.

We have a staff of four people currently:

Chief Dog Warden: Jeremy Grant 

Deputy Dog Wardens: Preston Schumaucher, Paisley Feldman, Emily Morgan

Adoption Information

Our staff works hard to match dogs with loving families. Adoption fees help cover shelter care and veterinary services. Contact the shelter for current availability and adoption requirements.

Adoption Hours

Monday – Saturday: 11:00 AM – 4PM
Sunday and all county approved holidays: Closed

Hours subject to change.
